When we refer to "Information," we mean data, which may include personal data. Arou collects information directly from you (data you provide) and through your use of our Services (data collected during usage).

Account Creation Data: This includes essential information like your phone number, first and/or last name, date of birth, and a username. During account creation, you can choose to share additional information such as a biography, email address, location, and profile picture.
Content Data: We receive content, including profile photos, photos, videos, emojis, captions, comments, messages, or geolocation, created during your use of our Services. Please be aware that other users may copy or share your content through other services.
Communications with Arou: When you report concerns, respond to surveys, seek assistance, or exercise your rights, we collect information necessary to support you, respond to you, and enhance our services. This may include the content of messages, photos, copies of identification, identifiers (e.g., phone numbers or email addresses), or other relevant information.

Connection and Technical Data: This includes your IP address, account creation date, last login, terminal equipment, and port.
Interaction Data: Details about the group you’re in, and the number of people in the group, who you invite
Usage Data: Actions performed, time you spend in Arou, application crashes, and event logs.
Device and Equipment Data: Information about your device type, geolocation, operating system version, language preference, and applications.
2. How We Use Information We Receive About You
We don't sell your information. Instead, we use it thoughtfully and carefully to provide you with the best possible Services. Common use cases include:
Operation, Improvement, and Provision of Services: Creating accounts, receiving and displaying content, identifying relevant content or accounts, ensuring proper service operation, and continuous improvement.
Safety and Security: Ensuring user safety, security, compliance with laws, and protecting against relevant risks.
Measurement and Analytics: Assessing the effectiveness and performance of our services, including stability and user engagement.
Communications: Using your information to communicate with you about features, questions, or reported content.
Research: Conducting research with user consent for product testing and improvement.

Arou Employees: Authorised Arou employees may access your information for service provision or support.
Other Users: Content you share is available to your group, or if shared more broadly, to all Arou users.
Service Providers: We may work with partners providing technical support, notifications, content publishing, user analytics, and security management. Your information may be shared with these partners to offer our Services.
Partner Integrations: Sharing information with partners to integrate specific features into our Services.
Legal and Statutory Purposes: In response to legal requests, proactive sharing with authorities, addressing fraud or security concerns, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
Change in Ownership: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, information about you may be shared, sold, or transferred.
4. How Long Do We Keep Information About You
Our goal is to retain information only as long as needed to provide our Services. Legal requirements may necessitate longer retention. General retention periods include:
Account Creation Data: Retained indefinitely (as long as you have an active account).
Content & Communication Data: Retained indefinitely (as long as you have an active account) or until deleted by you.
Communications with Arou: Retained for no longer than 24 months.
Connection and Technical Data: Retained for no longer than 24 months.
Interaction Data: Retained indefinitely (as long as you have an active account) or until deleted by you.
Usage Data: Retained for no longer than 24 months.
Device and Equipment Data: Retained for no longer than 24 months.
Photos or Videos Shared: Retained indefinitely (as long as you have an active account) or until deleted by you.
Geolocation Data: Retained as long as the related content is on our system (until you delete the content or your account).
Address Book Data: Retained indefinitely (as long as you have an active account).
5. What Controls Do You Have Over Your Information
Notification Settings: In the application settings, you can choose and control the notifications you receive.
Block or Hide Users: You can block or hide users whose content or messages you don't want to receive or want to hide your content from. You can manage these settings in the application.
Integrations: From time to time, we may offer integrations with partners to provide you certain features. If those partners require you to log into your account on their services to avail of the feature, you will be able to control those integrations in the settings of the applications at any time.
Delete Your Account: In the settings of the applications, you can choose to delete your account at any time. If you choose to delete your account, your account will be scheduled for deletion. This process takes approximately 15 days. If you log back into your account during that 15-day period, it will stop the deletion request. If you do not log back in, your account and all of your information will be permanently deleted.
Note, information will not be deleted where Arou has received a valid legal request requiring us to preserve your information.
If your account is permanently suspended and you choose to delete your account, we will keep Account Creation Data related to your account to prevent permanently suspended users from creating new accounts.
6. What Rights Do You Have Over Your Information
Privacy is a fundamental human right. Every person using our Services, irrespective of their location, can expect the same things from us. Whether you are in Europe, one of the 50 U.S. States, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Japan, Asia Pacific, or anywhere in between, you can:

Understand Who We Share Your Data With: By reading this list of service providers and partners or by contacting privacy support.

Correct Your Information: By using the controls in the application or by contacting us.

5. What Controls Do You Have Over Your Information

Delete Your Account: In the settings of the applications, you can choose to delete your account at any time. If you choose to delete your account, your account will be scheduled for deletion. This process takes approximately 15 days. If you log back into your account during that 15-day period, it will stop the deletion request. If you do not log back in, your account and all of your information will be permanently deleted.
Note, information will not be deleted where Arou has received a valid legal request requiring us to preserve your information.
If your account is permanently suspended and you choose to delete your account, we will keep Account Creation Data related to your account to prevent permanently suspended users from creating new accounts.
